Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: Can I be there when you spray?
- A: As long as you do not have emphysema or use supplemental oxygen and are over the age of 1.
- Q: Does it smell?
- A: The chemical used for general pest control is labeled as odorless. If we are treating for fleas, roaches, or bed bugs, the chemical has an odor that dissipates as it dries.
- Q: What do I have to do to prepare?
- A: General pest control, you do not need anything more than pull items out from under beds or from edges of closet floors.
Roaches: Empty out all kitchen and bathroom cabinets on upper and lower levels of home, wipe out all the cabinets before we treat (not after), leave all items out over night.
Fleas: vacuum and mop the night before, pick up all loose items off the floors. All people and animals must be off the floors for 4 hours to prevent staining.
- Q: Can you spray for head lice?
- A: NO
Shampooing and laundering are best.
- Q: How often should I have my home sprayed?
- A: Most homes should be treated every spring and fall unless there is a high population of spiders in which treatment might be necessary every 3 months.
- Q: Can you treat for bed bugs?
- A: Yes, but please contact our office for details.
- Q: Is there one spray for all bugs?
- A: No. Some insects require a repellant while some require a non-repellent.
- Q: Should I use bombs?
- A: Over the counter bombs emit non-residual chemicals up into the air. Unfortunately anywhere there is furniture, the chemical will not reach the floor which is where most insects travel.Plus, we do not believe in placing pest control materials where they are not necessary.
